All’s Well in the Garden

IMG_4483.JPGThis beautiful tree was damaged beyond repair this past winter. Now, everything in the garden is becoming new again.  I love this time of year.  Gone are the grey days of winter as we welcome sunny, warm days again.  DSC00312.JPG

This past winter our garden suffered major damage during the ice storm.  The large tree in our front yard split down the centre, the entire length of the tree.  The break it sustained was bad.  The tree had to be removed.

Discussion was not necessary after half the tree fell into the road and the remaining portion hung precariously over our home.

With the tree gone, all that remained was the stump.  We decided we would not grind it, but would form a flower bed around it instead.  So, work is in progress to develop a pleasing centrepiece to the front garden.

Here is the beginning.

Hope you are enjoying a bright, sunny, new day.

Happy Mother’s Day

Roses (5)

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother.

My hope is that you will be remembered by your family.

That they will spend time with you; will spoil you – at the very least – will call you.

I am blessed with sons and step-children that do all those things.  Not every one all at once, but between them all, I am remembered; surprised with delectable (fruit arrangements) and loved. I receive telephone calls, texts and messages all confirming to me that they are thoughtful, caring children and I love ’em too.

Right now, I am having breakfast prepared for me.  Yum.  Later, supper is planned too.  So I guess I can say – yes, I’m very lucky, and I know it.

So, to all the moms out there, I hope you are cherished today.  God bless each and every child that remembers.
